ABOUT ME

I am a girl who breaths through writing. It's more than a hobby, it's a way of life.

I also like painting and photographing. Though I am not good at any of those. But I will get better.

I love summer rain. And summer nights. Staying awake until morning. Ice cream.

I think that people should open themselves up for the world. Otherwise they will miss significant parts.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe there is not such a thing as an absolute truth. Everybody has to find his/her own way in life and there is no other way finding it but looking for it. All the truths do not apply to everyone and that’s why everybody’s different (and that’s why there are so many ideologies etc.). Nobody should tell the others how to live their life, because you can’t be truly happy if you don’t find the happiness in yourself. You can’t either make another person happy, if you’re not content with your own life.

I live my life to live and to experience love and happiness. By living I mean seeing and feeling the world around me instead of just doing my daily routines in it. I want to see places I’ve never been to and also experience beauty. By loving I don’t mean only romantic love or the way I love my family or my friends, but also love that I can spread around me by caring for other people. In other words: by helping in some way if I see someone needing help. It can be as simple as opening a door for someone who has too much stuff in his/her arms, helping to lift the stroller out of the bus or just smiling to strangers.

I think everyone needs someone who calls one with one's real name.

Surfing and also hosting when I'll get a chance (no couch at the moment, but have been hosting in Helsinki).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

An amazing concept! I've truly met interesting people through this and even got a couple of good friends. The best way of getting to know other cultures and definitely the best way of getting to know a new city!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like almost any music that can stir up some emotions in me. Usually any genre (excluding hiphop and I-don't-even-know-what-that-genre-is-called, well, it's almost like reggae, but not reggae) will do, but I totally hate listening to some main stream r'n'b and pop (except when I'm out for dancing, then I don't really mind it). My favourite bands (like HIM, Sonata Arctica an Nightwish) play mostly rock/heavy metal and if I'm going out in my home town, I'll definitely go to Tavastia. But when I'm driving a car, I always listen to Finnish pop music. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went hiking to Lapland of Norway some years ago. Though I was there with approximately 20 other people the feeling was unbelievable: there was nothing but mountains and some small birches there and I got a feeling of some kind of peace. Getting off from all the 'civilisation' and contacts (mobile phone and computer) for one week was totally relaxing and calming. There was nothing but your own thoughts and a lot of time - and some potential people to whom talk about what was going on inside your head.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can definitely teach you Finnish, if you want to learn. When it comes to languages, at the moment I am struggling with Dutch, as I live in Belgium for this year.

I want to learn anything that comes to dancing: ballroom dances, rock'n'roll and individual dances. At the moment going to beginner's swing-rock classes. Also done some voguing (/vogue) and hip hop, but always looking forward to learn more!
