About Me
My Self
Hello my name is Hemal!
I am a 28 year old male artist who loves to travel, meet people and enjoy life. I have been in Australia since April 2016 and I am eager to go out and see new places and meet new people. I am from West London, a place called Hounslow, my family are from Africa (Kenya & Tanzania but Indian heritage) and I was born and raised in the big city region of London. I'm friendly, easy going and passionate.
Recently I have been more into studying esoteric philosophy, going further into things like mindfulness, meditation and yoga. I am interested to see how the body, mind, spirit and our external surroundings are all connected. Each person has a unique story, struggle and quest and to each they are beautiful, meaningful and in their own way holy. I like to treat other human beings and nature around me with respect and love because I believe we are all connected and that if we live a noble life then happiness is just a natural produce.
I value being honest, showing respect and bringing a positive presence to everywhere I can. Recently I have enjoyed donating my time to help distribute food at food banks, help people with mental health via online support and through phone lines. I want to help make the human experience better and spread basic needs to people who are struggling for whatever reason. I always have stuff to talk about, usually you will find me smiling and I like to do things both with people but also spending time alone on my creative endeavors. I'm really low maintenance and always available to anyone who needs a person to talk to and laugh with.
My main two loves besides traveling and my family/friends are Art and Music. I really enjoy losing myself in the creative process and the exploration. I have been drawing and painting since I was very young, currently I am creating visual collections for galleries (instagram add: planetar_o), music shows and I am traveling the world to inspire myself.
My second major creative love is Music, I have been obsessed with tunes and sounds since I was also very young. I love to dance to music and I love to write music, I use Logic Pro X and I have just finished writing my first album demo. I'm into all kinds of music as I believe music is as diverse and rich as life and that to say I only like one type of music would be like me saying I only like one type of food or person. I'm into everything from Electronic Dance music to Rock, Punk, Dubstep, Ambient Techno, House, Metal, Accoustic. Just about everything, for me this line says it all: "Good music, is good music." It can come from anywhere as long as it moves the soul and body. And I have been shaking my butt to music ever since I was a young, hyper active kid.
I love to cook food, especially for other people because I pay that extra bit of attention to detail. I can cook mostly indian dishes but also some classics. I make do with what I have around me and I waste as little as possible.
Besides that I love all the best things: Nature (all kinds, trees, beaches, parks, lakes, mountains, cities), Animals (Pets, I have a dog at home in London and I miss him a lot!) The art of conversation, photography, live music, good food, movies (all kinds), TV shows (currently Twin Peaks, GoT and The Walking Dead), fitness, coffee, reading, comedy and theatre. I'm great vibes and a pretty awesome human.
p.s. I love to clean, I find it very relaxing. Doing dishes are a secret relaxation joy of mine.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to see life, I want to meet a diverse set of people and share what skills and stories I can. Human experience and travel make life rich and interesting yes? I believe in the kindness of people and I know that when I myself am being kind and generous I feel like the best version of myself. I want to see new places and new faces while I chase the sunset around the world.
