ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small town in Vietnam QUI NHON, my brother came over to australia by boat illegally when he was 8, i was lucky enough to receive citizenship and later moved over to Australia with my family when i was 3. I grew up in melbourne with a bunch of australians that taught me how to play footy, cricket, eat meat pies with Tomato Sauce(ketchup), which has made me who i am today. I am humble, ive never been spoilt and can always appreciate everything around me, i am an optimist and try to find the speck of gold in every situation.

I am a bit quirky, irreverent and I guess different from the typical guys you'd meet. I dont fit into any single stereotype but have created a new one. Id like to think of myself as confident, i can speak my mind but also have the patience to listen to others, i care a lot for people, for kindness, friends, and family. There can be moments when I am shy, situations which i can feel nervous in, but humility is something good not something to be avoided. I am a progressive person, always wanting to achieve more, always wanting to grow, learn, discover, i think id like to see myself as a new episode of sesame street, always learning something new everyday. Yes i care what people think of me, who doesn't ? because its a check and balance to make you a better person, i love walking into a group and getting to know everyone, as i leave I can hear their whispers "how cool is that guy? Where did you meet him?" i strive for that.

PHILOSOPHY

"The race is long sometimes we are ahead other time we are behind but in the end its only with ourselves" - Baz Lurman This is a quote i try to live by, for me it means that i dont need to benchmark my life to others, some people get married early, have kids early i may not ... i guess i try to remind myself that its not a race against others, its up to me how fast or slow i take things. : )

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Last year i was backpacking through asia in an isolated town, i caught a flight up to Hanoi and met a canadian on the plane, we got to know each other and i suggested we travel together. I ended up getting lost at sea with him, slept in bungalows and had some pretty wild adventures. He suggested i should come visit him him in canada.... so i just thought life is just too short for hesitations, i quit my job organised my working Visa and caught a 1 way flight to canada.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never done it with strangers, technically i've been couch surfing through all of canada. Im excited to couch surf with some new fresh faces though

Interests

My dreams change, i was working in the advertising world for several years and can honestly say that i wanted to live like Donald Draper in the "Mad Men" series, than i started to see the truth about that world, my next passion is performing arts, i've always wanted to be in film/television but always held back for some odd reason, lastly a strange one but opening up a small little coffee shop with someone that i love, we would make coffee/tea together and run a small but very happy little shop. I love to play racquet sports and go rock climbing when weather permits!
