About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To awaken. To fill myself to the brim until I come bursting out of the seams. To feed my curiosity. To scratch my insatiable travel itch.

ABOUT ME

I'm in love with knowledge, especially novel things. I'm frequently fascinated by anything visceral or existential. I am an avid musician and a sometimes poet, a blacksmith on hiatus, a born wanderer and a passionate listener. I drive a moped, and it rocks. I am in recovery (I don't drink or do drugs. I'm not bothered if you do, unless you, say, insist on mainlining heroin in front of me.) I am currently pursuing a degree in Humanities. I have lived and seen many things, dark and beautiful.

PHILOSOPHY

"If a man is called to be a streetsweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the host of heaven and earth will pause to say, here lived a great streetsweeper who did his job well." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I promote couch surfing wherever I can. Most importantly, I get out there and do it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been sleeping on couches off and on now for about three years. It all started when my mother moved into a new house. I didn't have a room, so I slept on the couch. Eventually, I decided if I was going to sleep on a couch in the first place, I might as well find some interesting ones. I've surfed with people I know and people I don't. There's something exciting about meeting someone new, and I think it takes a certain kind of person to let you crash on their couch. I've taken about a year's hiatus, and I'm getting all itchy to find a couch again.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting sober. Truly the most rewarding experience of my life. A year ago, I was homeless, hopeless, and helpless. Today I live a life I could not have even imagined.

Teach, Learn, Share

Rolling cigarettes, recovery, music, making knives.
