Hey there! My name is Henning (sadly I dont have a cool Nickname) and I just graduated high school in Germany. I started my trip through Australia in September and I want to stay here for one and a half year. After that my journey is going to take me to New Zealand and Asia.

I'm quite relaxed, friendly, open minded and always in for good fun, joking around and a bit of party.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm new to CS but for me couchsurfing is a perfect opportunity to meet great and interesting people all over the world and that is what I'm looking for. On top of that you get to know local people and experience the real spirit of different places which is way better than just sight seeing. I'm looking for interesting conversations, lovely and friendly people and a good laugh together.

Interests

Mhh interest let's see..
I like to do sports. I played handball and football or soccer (I still don't get when to say what but anyway :D ) back in Germany.
I just started rockclimbing and I get more and more into it. It's fucking addictive.
When I was staying in the blue mountains I went to a vipassana meditation course for 10 Days and I find the philosophy behind this meditation technique quite fascinating. So I am starting to get interested in philosophy and society concepts.
I also enjoy nature a lot and I like hiking or just hanging around in beautiful places. I'd like to learn how to surf but I'm afraid I have to take a course first to not fail completely and entertain the whole beach with my falls.
I really like poetry slams and comedians. I just love to laugh but who doesn't?

Music, Movies, and Books

That might sound a bit boring but I kind of like all types of music. Even some hillbilly bluegrass or country music has a place in my heart. Only hard metal music makes me want to change the radio station.

I generally like all the Leonardo DiCaprio movies but movies with a good old plot twist like Memento, Shutter Island, Lucky Number Slevin, Primal Fear or A Beautiful Mind are films which I'm really enjoying. I also like movies which are inspiring for me like Into the Wild or Shawshank Redemption.
Additionally I love watching tv series like Game of Thrones or Sherlock.

I decided to go traveling instead of studying. Otherwise I wouldn't even type this here.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love sharing my culture and my experiences with others but I also want to learn about other peoples cultural background and their adventures. It's the people who are making the journey to a beautiful thing and I want to learn from these people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love food but to be honest my cooking skills are not the best and mostly limited on pasta. But I would consider my Chilli con carne more or less tasty. So if you are a fan of spicy mexican food I'm your man! If not please don't let me try to cook something complicated. But I'm willing to help you out in the kitchen if you want to cook.
