ABOUT ME

Since we're a couple, we're going to introduce ourselves one by one. But before you get to know us separately, we've been together for almost three years. We grew up in the same town, went to the same school (for the last three years) and met in a pub, even though we rarely drink. Funny how life works sometimes, right? ;)

Oh and we also have a small miniature schnauzer with us here in Spain. Her name is Cleo, and she protects us from all things evil.

--- About Henri ---

My name is Henri (pronounced Hen-ree). I'm 5 feet 9 inches tall and have the ability to sleep anywhere, as long as it's somewhat quiet. I have been blessed (and cursed) with the awareness of a cat.

Born and raised in Northern Sweden. My parents are almost entirely Finnish, so I grew up talking both Swedish and Finnish. I also grew up with English, so I speak three languages fluently and am working on my Spanish.

I like spirituality, computers (when they work), languages, writing, traveling, reading and anything that blows my mind. I'm very open-minded and love experiencing new stuff.

I was a professional poker player from the age of 18-23, and since a bit over a year ago, I make my living by being an online writer. It's a bit more complicated than that, but if we meet, I'll have plenty of time to explain it to you ;)

I have also fallen off a tree, a cement block, a few other things and survived, so you could say I bring luck with me.

Oh and I'm also good at talking about nonsense once I get warmed up.

Side-note: I'm allergic to most animals with fur, although I can tolerate some dogs.

--- About Ingela ---

My name is Ingela, almost like Angela but pronounced completely differently!

I grew up in Northern Sweden in a bilingual home, with a Dutch mother and a Swedish father. So all in all I speak Swedish, English, Dutch, some Finnish and understand some Italian. Oh and of course right now I'm learning Spanish!

I love animals, especially my dog. I like being in nature, traveling, dancing, yoga, horseback riding in mountains, crafting, and lots more. I really enjoy learning a new language every now and then. I played the cornet when I was younger, and think it would be fun to learn to play another instrument.

Some things I find fascinating are natural health, spiritual stuff, organic gardening, attachment parenting, and unschooling. I enjoy natural whole foods the most right now, and Henri says I'm an excellent chef! =D

When meeting new people I guess I'm usually a bit timid at first, but I'm an open minded and cheerful person.

PHILOSOPHY

Henri: I thought life was about achievement, money and what you had, until I realized that true joy comes from the inside, and from life experiences. I do my best to follow my heart wherever it leads me.

Ingela: I live my life to enjoy the moment, but also love to grow as a person.

We've mainly been to couchsurfing meetings such as Language Exchange Meetings (awesome way to practice languages and meet new friends!!)

Interests

Henri: I like nature, reading, swimming, calmness, contemplation and movies.

Ingela: my dog, learning new stuff, being creative, funny movies, meeting interesting people and well, a lot of other things.

Music, Movies, and Books

We enjoy all kinds of music, but tend to lean towards something calming and soothing.

We disagree a bit on movies, because I (Henri) enjoy thrillers, mysteries and all that good stuff, while Ingela enjoys comedies, fantasies and dramas.

As for books, a very good one is the Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle, and there are always a ton of other ones we've read over the years.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2008, we went to the Amazon in Peru and took part in an ayahuasca ceremony. Interesting, life-changing, fun and scary at the same time!

Teach, Learn, Share

We're always up for practicing our Spanish and anything else that sounds interesting!

Henri: I can teach you to say cool stuff in Swedish, Finnish and English (if needed!). I can also talk about the hidden (and interesting) benefits of blogging and internet entrepreneurship.

Ingela: I can teach you Swedish or beginners Dutch, Finnish and English. I can also share some tips about dog training, vegan cooking, and making raw food desserts.
