About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Thinking of something creative to put in the "Current mission" form!
ABOUT ME
This one is a nice excuse for asking what people think about you ;-). We did the experiment and here is the result: Seemingly we are easy to have around, active, ambitious and open-minded. So much for the good part! On the other hand we are both quite talkative (Elisa coming in first closely) and tend to get ahead of ourselves from time to time. We both also wear our heart's on our sleeves. While travelling we come as a package but if you come to Zurich looking for a couch or a coffee then you will have the chance of meeting one OR the other - it is important for us to not be one of those inseparable couples...!
PHILOSOPHY
Man is unhappy because he doesn't know he's happy. It's only that. That's all, that's all! If anyone finds out he'll become happy at once, that minute. (Demons, Dostojevsky)
Think about it for a minute and then be happy for the rest of your life!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Henrik has surfed several times at other peoples couches and recently he and his flat have started hosting people as well. Give and take ;-)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Henrik has couch surfed before and has always made extraordinary experiences. He has experienced so many funny nights in Israel, French hospitality, Swiss heartiness and every time he surfed he was again astonished by the implicit trust that was present.
Interests
Apart from engaging in the same field of study our interests are highly divergent. Henrik used to play the piano and guitar (not simultaneously ;-) in several Big Bands, Combos, Orchestras, Duos and still tries to assign as much time as possible to this wonderful hobby. Elisa is reigning Swiss champion of Rock'n'Roll dancing (though attempts to find a Swiss passport in her purse are in vain!) and likes to engage in all kinds of activities which involve moving your body and sweating a lot. We both like to travel (evidently) and while doing so we make use of every kind of bridge, roller coaster or similar to fight Henrik's acrophobia!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Henrik went through the Negev desert in Israel feeding off cucumbers and Pita bread for a couple of days which was an extraordinary experience. He also had a great time in Montpellier where he volunteered working with children and homeless people.
And of course meeting each other!
Teach, Learn, Share
Henrik is always glad to teach a couple of basic chords or an easy song on the piano (name your favorite Beatles song and calculate an hour or so ;-). Since he has been living in France he can also show you some traditional French cuisine if you are into that stuff!
As we are physicists we can explain quite a few thing about the world around us. So if you have always wanted to know why we see rainbows or why the sky turns from blue to red at dusk it would be a opportunity to invite us in. But don't worry: We are only smart-alec on demand ;-)
We are eager to "absorb" different languages: So don't be afraid to use words of your own language: Being German and living in Switzerland we are used to inquire if need be ;-)
