ABOUT ME/CURRENT MISSION

Hello there! I'm a Brazilian dude working in economic policy in DC, married to a wonderful woman who just moved to Boston for a 1-year Master's Degree. The apartment feels kinda empty now, so I thought... perfect opportunity to host some couchsurfers!

I travel a lot, so if interested shoot me a message to see if i'm in town. I work full-time but happy to join you after hours or do a nice walking tour on weekend, show you the best breweries and take you to the best karaoke in town :-)

The apt is in a up and coming (cough, cough - gentrified) 10 min metro ride from downtown/national mall/etc. Close to Union Station and the US Capitol.

(Should go without saying, but please no racists, homophobes, prejudiced folks, trump supporters, or bigots in general)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted people in Sweden and San Diego; I've surfed couches in Amsterdam and Toronto. I can say that those experiences definitely changed my mind in many ways! I love couchsurfing, couchsurfers in general and doing whatever I can for the project.

I love reading, books, languages, stories, and words. I love meeting new places and new people, and I love doing different fun things!

Música, películas y libros

I truly love Samba and Jazz. Some classical stuff as well. But I like almost every kind of music, from Brazilian Pagodão to Pakistani Qawwali! In regarding books, I love especially Guimarães Rosa (the best writer in the world!), James Joyce, Borges, etc. Currently on a quest to read more American authors of color such as Toni Morrison, James Baldwin, Natasha Trethewey, etc - and it's been a-ma-zing :-)

Algo increíble que he hecho

• Got detained at Ukraine's borders (do not recommend);
• Skinny-dipped in a midnight sea (and in a mid-day sea, for that matter);
• Sang Gengis Khan's Moskau to an excited audience of Finnish karaokers on a ship en route to Russia (I don't speak German);
• Participated in a real United Nations conference in Copenhagen;
• Lived and worked with refugees at a facility in Hungary for a couple of months;
• Spent my 2011 new year's eve sleeping with the homeless at Deli Palyaudvar after my Budapest host got drunk and vanished from the earth;
• Went orange in Holland's Koninginnedag;
• Flew a small plane a couple times to do development work with a small fishing community in Mexico;
• Translated a poem by Ovid from Latin to Portuguese (first translation since the 17 century!);
