My old profile below is for reference, but I don’t live in Xi’an anymore. I was in Xi’an for 3 years when I hosted a bunch of people, then Shanghai for half a year, then Taiwan for 3.5 years, then Nepal for 4 months. Now I’m going back to Shanghai for school. Will be staying in a dorm so won’t be able to host anyone. I’m an English native speaker and also conversational in Mandarin.

I’m originally from Oakland, California, USA, but I’ve been living in Xi’an, China for the past two years. I originally came here to teach English at a university. While I still do that, I’ve also started to seriously study Chinese with the hope of eventually becoming fluent in Mandarin. Next year I hope to return to school and start a Master’s program in Chinese philosophy in Shanghai. In my free time in China, I’ve explored my city of Xi’an and done a fair amount of traveling elsewhere in China and to a few countries beyond.
