Hi, I'm Henry and I am a student from Australia currently studying Mandarin at Peking University for a year! My degree back home is Asian Studies and Languages, with a double major in Advanced Japanese and Chinese, and a general focus on East Asian History and diplomatic relations.

When I was 18 I went on my gap year and travelled around the Middle East for 8 months, and I have travelled to a few countries in Asia. I went on exchange to Nagasaki, Japan for when I was 16 and studied for a semester at the University of Tokyo in 2022.

I love reading, hiking, and meeting new people to have interesting conversations, language exchange, and to explore together.

My motto is "everyone you meet has something to teach you"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Whilst I am living here in China I hope to see as much of this huge country as I can; and a big part of that is meeting and talking to Chinese people! Whilst I can't host as I live in a student dormitory I love going out for a drink/bite to meet new people.
