Overview
About Me
I am a Tartu-based creative worker. I make a living at a small company called Dada AD, as a graphic designer, photographer, videographer and animator. I also do the same things for Tartu Uus Teater and I am a co-founder of an interactive theatre group named LTÜ G9.
People usually perceive me as a quiet and slow-tempoed person, and they're most likely right. But I have become known for sudden unexpected outbursts of dancing, therefore people are starting to expect them, and also order them upfront.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I used to have a joint account with my former partner and I have had a very good experience with the Couchsurfing people. I'm hoping to do an honorable share in this wonderful community. CS is probably one of the best ways to meet interesting people. Or at least, a good way to evoke interesting meetings. Although. growing older, I have found it increasingly difficult to encounter boring people.
Interests
I am a music lover and a film glutton, greatly so because of the magic of Internet, I suppose. Not much of a book reader, but I consume them in the audiobook version in some amounts. In the past I was a self-proclaimed poetry genius, but that was just the teenage hormone tsunami, nowadays the graphomania has subsided and is restricted to a few philosophical essays per decade. There's the wood carving hobby as well, which is, alas, poorly supported by the facilities of an apartment building. My bicycle mileage is a noteworthy fact in this passage as well, I think. Being in the nature is definitely my thing.
I make a living in advertising - I design for web, print, and video. The money that I make there I spend all in theatre - co-authoring productions in Labyrinth Theatre Group G9.
I had a paper proving my C1 in Spanish somewhere but I think my cat ate it and since I haven't been out much, es lógico que no he practicado mucho y claro que no he hablado con la gente que también habla la idioma.

Music, Movies, and Books
According to an uncomplete database of statistics, among my most listened musicians are The Mars Volta, Marilyn Manson, Radiohead, Animal Collective, Jeff Beck, Patrick Wolf, Moloko, Chalice, Moby, Rival Consoles, Portishead, Cirkus, Jaga Jazzist, Jamie xx, Goldfrapp, Massive Attack, Portugal The Man, Tina Dico, Lana Del Rey, Mew, Michael Garlington, Glass Animals, The Antlers, Ane Brun, Ragatmika, Skunk Anansie, Madonna, Gary Moore, PJ Harvey, Sneaker Pimps, Denali, Interpol, Busta Rhymes, Rage Against the Machine, Sparks, Nine Horses, Fleet Foxes, Asaf Avidan, Janis Joplin, Beirut, Kings of Leon, GoGo Penguin, Colin Stetson, Gunnar Graps, Supergrass, Bad Lip Reading, a heap of African artists, and many others.
I have memorable memories of, or can generally recall a pleasant overall appreciation of such films as Gasland, Nebraska, Mary and Max, Persepolis, Oldboy, Okuribito, Requiem for a dream, The prestige, Fight club, Sound of Noise, Pervert's guide to cinema, Pervert's guide to ideology, Where the wild things are, Little children, Home, Synecdoche New York, Serious man, The holy mountain, Memento, JCVD, Moon, Bunny and the bull, Je t'aime je t'aime, Constant gardener, Defendor, Big Lebowski, Snatch, The fall, Vratne lahve, Festen, Untitled, Scanner darkly, Waltz with Bashir, Hard Candy, Abre los ojos, 007 Casino Royale, Intouchables, Mulholland drive, Kontroll, Gruz 200, Gegen die wand, Irreversible, Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, The good thief, Du levande, The science of sleep, Naked lunch, Inglorious basterds, Casablanca Driver, Los cronocrimenes, Kynodontas, Alpeis, The lobster, In Bruges, Batman the dark knight, Her, Black swan, Dallas buyer's club, and many others.
The book-reader in me was dormant for a long while because the experience of mandatory reading in school left me with some scars. But since I'm staring at the screen most of the day, I can also pour something in my ear at the same time, so I can confess consuming at leas the following artefacts: We by Zamjatin, Sapiens, Homo deus and 21 lessons by Harari, Pale fire by Nabokov, The collector by Fowles, Oblomov by Goncharov, What the dog saw by Gladwell, No encore for the donkey by Stanhope, 1q84 by Murakami, Ghost in the wires by Mitnick, The stone gods by Winterson, Born a crime by Noah, Memoirs and misinformation by Carrey and Vachon, Shoe dog by Knight, The day the sun died by Lianke, The tempest by Shakespeare, Shantaram by Roberts, Hingede öö by Ristikivi, and many others
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I saw both Rome and Napoli, and also Venice. And I didn't die. I guess that's three amazing things. So, why not add a fourth - I tried to define an exact moment where something of my doing was amazing for others, and got lost, and still arrived here!
Teach, Learn, Share
The title of this input box actually says it all. The motto of every person should be exactly that. 'Teach, learn and share.' This would make us all come to a mutual understanding everywhere with everyone. Some would argue that such a homogeneous structure renders change impossible, therefore produces a static system, and thus a death of all things imaginable. The fear described is legitimate, but excludes a paramount factor of the equation - 'when'. By sharing and learning, a person becomes one with the society, but not instantly. There is always a buffer of time between one's personal fight to understand how things are and the eventual nod to inevitable understanding that all is what it is.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like to bring food and cook, so that I can do. Also I can have long talks about deep subjects. I can create artworks as well, if the host should feel they have too few at their household. I can show my portfolio and explain every detail, until 156 years go by and we all grow mold on our rolling kidney stones. I can sit silently and admire their existence existing as they proclaim and inhabit a unique part of this universe, and graze their endless fields of lifejoy with my mind's harvester.
