Overview
About Me
I'm an enthusiastic vet student from the UK who enjoys travelling and meeting new people as well as throwing myself into all sorts of social and sporting activities when at home.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As a keen travelling I've had lots of great experiences when holidaying abroad or in the U.K. particularly when staying with or talking to local people. Therefore I'd like to get the most engaging impression of the places I visit in future directly from the horse's mouth by staying with people like me who live there.
Interests
When not on holiday I love to play a range of sports (football, squash, hockey and lacrosse), reading books from fun fiction to the classics and getting out and about socialising with friends from school or university. Consecutive nights in on the sofa are not my idea of fun so I always try to find fun things to do and avoid sitting around at home.
Then again staying in can also be enjoyable and so I love to cook or entertain at home when I've got time (not as often as I'd like) and then am still partial to a good film or TV programme.

Music, Movies, and Books
There are far too many to list but starting with books (my absolute favourites) I can recommend lots from A Song of Ice and Fire, Lord of the Rings, anything by Terry Pratchet, Harry Potter (obviously), P.G. Wodehouse novels but then I've found quite a few of the classics really enjoyable such as The Three Musketeers.
Films are harder to choose but Casino Royal is definitely up there alongside the video versions of all the aforementioned books. Pirates of the Caribbean and most other Disney classics almost always appeal to me but I don't tend to turn down the opportunity to watch new movies as long as it's been recommended by a friend.
Unfortunately I'm a complete amateur at judging music so can only say I like most music once I've heard it often enough.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I just got back from completing the National Three Peaks challenge in the U.K. where I climbed the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in under 24 hours! It was pretty tough at the time but well worth doing especially since we raised nearly £1000 for the Against Malaria Foundation.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always keen to share my experiences with people and show them around home. Especially if it includes playing sports or trying new foods (preferably delicious ones). In these situations I'm happy to broaden my own horizons or help others shape their own.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As a student I'm deeply immersed in the active social scene in Cambridge where there is always something going on so I'd love to help people explore the youth culture of the city in addition to doing the traditional touristy things.
