In 2014, I was part of a small team from the University Judo club, that went to Japan to compete in a Tournament.
Upon arriving in Japan we began our quest for the elusive black belt. Beginning in Tokyo we started our tour, then travelling through Ashikaga, before starting our camp in Kyoto with the Kyoto riot police.
A few days later we travelled to Osaka in the sweltering summer heat to Osaka Castle. After a tough tournament, we all emerged with shiny new black belts around our waists. It was a good day.
