Don’t panic

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, couchsurfing is a way of experiencing and spreading culture. Travelling from hotel to hostel is no way to get to know a new place, staying with someone who can tell me what a guidebook can't and can show me their side of their home is the only way to do it. As a host I get bits and pieces of culture come to me! New languages, customs, foods, whatever new thing people bring into my life makes every experience unique. It also makes me get out there and enjoy my own city- its easy to get complacent and take things for granted, hosting people who want to see my home makes me want to see it!

Interests

I like to think, learn, create, and innovate. I like the Oxford comma, drinking flat whites with no sugar, making a point, doing handstands, finding cobbled streets with weird shops, solving problems, meeting new people- fictional or real, languages I can't understand, Ella Fitzgerald, snowboarding, biking down hills at breakneck speed, hitchhiking and normal hiking, cacti, yoga, the South Island of New Zealand, hops, barley, malts, water & hops, cacti, fluffy carpets, longboards, retrievers.

I don't accept mass-sent couch requests so if you want to stay include a brief account of your opinion on the topic of green eggs and ham!
