Overview
About Me
Installed in Northern France for two years now, I work in a boarding school as it leaves me time in the week to get involved in an association that preserves the Norman woodish countryside and do voluntary work to help people lead collective projects for the development of alternative solutions in the territory. I like to see myself as a spider who spins links between people and put the first spark on ;)
I like to travel and discover new cultures by staying a long time in one place with locals. For me the history of the place and the immersion in the daily life of local people is more interesting than turistic things. If we can take time together to talk, take a walk, cook or anything funny or quiet you'd like to share, dont hesitate to suggest it to me! I also need to spend time alone in order to appreciate by myself my trip and my life. I'd say it's a 50/50 balance ;) So I'm also able to respect your loneliness moments. I'm not a long and hard party lover, so relax, I won't awake you at 4 AM every night.
I need to move, be active, be outside, in the contact of Nature, in the respect of Nature of course. I am very curious and like to talk with people, even about things I don't know because I'm keen to learn and exchange different points of view. My hobbies are practicing yoga and meditation, swimming, dancing (salsa and bachata in particular) hiking, writing and playing trumpet. I'm also really interested in what some call "personal development" ; I'd say that we have work to do to be in good terms with ourselves and the others, so I'm working on learning more about myself and the way I can communicate, live and work in a healthier way with others, being in the heart, sincerely.
Oh, I don't drink alcohol (I can't in reality). I specify it here because sometimes it seems to be reaaaaally important to share alcohol with hosts, so if this is the case for you, you don't have to host me you know ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To have the possibility to travel and meet people in parallel, who offer you the board and can make you discover the true aspect of local life. To live a moment of friendly sharing and avoid all the turistic and insipid hostels and commercial areas where I'll just be considered as money with legs.
To offer other people hospitality and then welcome the travel at home ;)
Interests
Music: I play trumpet in a brass band and love listening to music on a good sound system.
Sport (hiking, swimming, climbing, yoga particularly). Involved in ecological and social issues and I trust in another way to learn than the one in place at school actually: people have to appropriate their need for learning. Meditation, dance and photo too. I like cooking (and my hosts too they told me...!)
