ABOUT ME
Welcome!
Thanks for reading my profile: all the info you need to know about me is there. If you're looking for a couch, I'll try my best to offer you some space if I'm able.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe my favorite times during my European and American trips were discovering various people in youth hostels or randomly. Mixing up people from various horizons that don't necessarily speak the same language is quite exciting I think: most of the time, something unexpected happens.
I believe I consider myself as a humanist and I am easily affected by the greed or interest of some people (and on movie sets, you get to meet a bunch). But saying it out loud sounds dumb and may not look modest so I'll leave it to you to judge.
One thing I love is the interaction between people and strangers. I'm always interested into meeting new people even in the most random ways...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been traveling quite a lot and love to meet new people all the time, from everywhere. Now I have space I also host. I usually host people at least once a month (and some of them are foreign friends not necessarily on CS) and I'll be pleased to give you a hand and show you around if I have the time. Be careful: staying with me can be quite tiring! ;)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
As a member of the Hospitality Club, I've had several unofficial couchsurfing experiences before. I've been traveling around Europe and made many international friends that I've received at my place several times.
Good news is that it went very well so far. I even hosted a full British band before.
During summer 2009, I was lucky to be hosted in various locations during my road trip through the United-States, thanks to this site.
Since, I've hosted several people in Paris as well, whenever I had the time.
Finally I stayed at some lovely people's places in Japan, thanks to CouchSurfing!
Interests
I listen to a lot of music. I love going to gigs and partying as well. I'm a terrible dancer but I'll dance all night like crazy if the music is good (well, actually, even if it's bad).
I've just finished my Sound studies in Cinema as well so I find a lot of interest into talking about films. I record, edit and mix music, radio plays and films.
I discovered "Sound engineering" through my first bands and now I'm doing my best to take my personal music project called SHOEFITI as far as I can: making albums, touring, playing in festivals... some material was recorded live by myself on the road during my crosscountry trip in the US. An album came out a couple months ago and it's all NAME YOUR PRICE so help yourself. You can take a listen here: http://shoefiti.bandcamp.com .

Music, Movies, and Books
I could probably talk about thousands of records and styles of music all night so I'd rather give you some kind of "TOP 5" although it is not representative at all to what i can listen to (Jazz, classical and hip hop as well).
MUSIC:
OK Computer - Radiohead
Mellon Collie & Infinite Sadness - Smashing Pumpkins
Dark Side of The Moon - Pink Floyd
Brighten The Corners - Pavement
Figure 8 - Elliott Smith
MOVIES:
Pulp Fiction - Tarantino
Eternal Sunshine on the Spotless Mind - Gondry
Almost Famous - Cameron Crow
Forest Gump - Zemeckis
Children of Men - Alfonso Cuaron
Lately I've been reading loads of books (Jack Kerouac, Jonathan Safran Foer, Jim Harrison, Haruki Murakami and Hemmingway). I actually have this new coat with LOADS of pockets and one of those pockets always has a book in it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ha ha... Loads. And I think keeping this profile up-to-date is one of them. Guess we'll have to meet up to be sure to have something to talk about...
Another one is leaving overnight with some brilliant English friends to make this film across Europe: http://vimeo.com/3984756
Please take a glimpse: it's 3 minutes of entertaining lego action (actually it's a European film that promotes learning languages in primary school and traveling by train rather than planes for ecological issues).
Teach, Learn, Share
I love giving Parisian road trips to people, especially friends from other countries. A good music, a lovely city at night with shimmering lights, a car that flows slowly through the traffic... what else?
But I'm always cool having a chat in a "café" or taking you to small local venue for a gig.
