Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to find myself in places that either allow me the luxury of being completely foreign. I also love 'dying' midwestern cities
ABOUT ME
I'm a graduate student at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. I'm a very open-minded yet rational guy, with three couches to spare. I currently live in a four-bedroom house close to downtown Chapel Hill/Carrboro with plenty of space to host.
I'm a Midwesterner and have lived in Cleveland for 13 years. I love my hometown, but I also enjoy the Triangle. I'm also a dual-citizen with Italy and every year I go back to visit my family and life long friends. I've traveled half of Western Europe, a bit of China, and a lot of the USA. I want to visit the Balkans, Soviet Satellites and Africa. I just bought tickets to Patagonia!
PHILOSOPHY
I feel that one should both have global allegiance to the world and also have a local allegiance to a city.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm willing to host in Chapel Hill!
I love to travel and want to search out new places that are outside of my current horizon. I've traveled in Europe and go to Italy in the summer but I want to also find new places in countries where I have no easy grasp of the language.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My old neighbours across the street from me hosted a CSer from France, and I had a blast hanging out with him. I both want to recreate that experience and host others, and also I want to go out and travel the world like he did.
Interests
I love film, thinking, and languages. I love the analytic philosophers, and will sometimes spend time rereading Wittgenstein when I feel my mind has grown complacent. I love film and will spend some nights going out to the local art cinema to catch a rare flick. I love going out to local shows when I can. I love exploring local culture.

Music, Movies, and Books
Io sono Italiano. Pasolini, Fellini, Antonioni, the works... I also like American Indie and the Golden Era of 70s.
For music it's basic indie stuff. I guess you could say I range from Abba and Sonic Youth (though more Sonic Youth and also I keep to the beat of more recent stuff).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
China opened my mind. But I'm often amazed by many things in life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to show what I know of where I live and how I experience my home. And I hope to be shown the same when I visit another country. I also love talking to foreigners to get a more balanced perspective of this ever-shrinking world.
Countries I’ve Visited
Albania, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Malaysia, Netherlands, Taiwan, United Kingdom
Countries I’ve Lived In
Italy, United States
