Overview
About Me
Openminded, outgoing and sociable, with a great interest in the arts, cultures, politics and humanities. On a perfect day of leisure I like to have a long breakfast, maybe visit a museum or gallery, go to a fleamarket and buy a book, drop by a street festival organised by the neighbourhood in one of Berlin's diverse quarters, cook with friends, enjoy a summer night with a bottle of wine by the river and sometimes party in Berlin's techno clubs - less than I used to, though, but I still know my way around :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Overall, I am a very outgoing guy and I like to meet new people and go through new experiences. I enjoy sharing ideas and stories, getting to know my hometown or another place through the eyes of the visitor/the locals and learning or laughin through these new angles (ideally, both, :D). Especially today, as the world can be a place darker than we might have thought thought it could be, it is important to network, share knowledge, exchange experiences, get to know other's perspectives and maybe even develop ideas for change. Anyway, all this happens over some jointly cooked food, a cup of coffee or a glass of wine - no need for serious discussion rounds, simply sharing life's experiences.
Interests
I enjoy watching movies and series, mostly arthouse cinema, HBO and other witty series and intelligent comedy and, especially, Science Fiction (have you seen The Handmaids Tale? OMG - awful but genious).
When I travel, I am interested in urban life in other countries, exploring the cities I visit, but as well I enjoy getting away from it all and being just amidst the nature with friends.

Music, Movies, and Books
Haruki Murakami, Stanislaw Lem, Philip K. Dick, David Lynch, Wes Anderson, Douglas Sirks, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Stanley Kubrick, Francois Ozon, Pedro Almodóvar, Master of None, Breaking Bad, Arrested Development (TV Show and band also, actually), Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica (new TV show), Game of Thrones, Rome, The Handmaid's Tale, Ready Player One (great book!).. etc. etc. :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When travelling, I enjoy the seemingly small moments and experiences, like swimming the clear blue waters of the Croatian Adria, chatting and sharing a can of beer with a Touareg guide in Morocco getting away from his tourist group for a while or strolling around distant markets, exploring the groceries in new countries and objects of everyday life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am very interested in cultural issues, history and the social sciences, so I like to have conversations and learn and share information and thoughts. As well, I love cooking - currently mostly vegetarian - and I am always curious to exchange recipes and experience. I love speaking and learning and will be happy to have conversations in German, French, Portuguese, or Spanish if you want to learn or improve your skills.
My current job is consulting people from all over the world on how to have their degrees (university or vocational education/professional training) recognised for work in Germany and how to get settled in work life here. Not always necessary, but it can be handy - and I'm happy to share my knowledge.
