About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Some people just want to watch the world burn...I want to watch it dance
ABOUT ME
I'm quite tall, generally pretty chill. You'll probably like me. I'm also a secret agent--kind of like James Bond except more awesome. Don't worry though, it's only a weekend job; so as long as you don't host me on a Saturday or a Sunday, your house will remain free of bullet holes and KGB agents :)
PHILOSOPHY
Life is far too short to take seriously
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Couchsurfing is incredible. I think it's a great experience, meeting people from other countries and other cultures. If more people did it, our world would be a shinier, bubblier place. I don't think bubblier is a word, but oh well--maybe it's like a sommlier, except who only drinks carbonated beverages. Sounds like an awesome job!

Music, Movies, and Books
Hmm...Anything funny. Faulty towers, Mr. bean, Grisham, oscar wilde (lady windemere's fan in particular). Just finished reading John Steinback; I think it was the grapes of wrath. Anyway it was surprisingly good. George R. R. Martin is the best new fantasy author by far. He is on a level with Tolkien!
Music--a rather eclectic and highly ADD mix--Chick Corea, Metallica, Smokey Robinson, Armik, Bjork (I liked her before she was popular), Eagles, Maroon5, Dashboard Confessional and most classic rock.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think the scariest thing I've done was get chased out of a secret propaganda floor in the hotel in North Korea.
The most amazing thing I've seen would have had to be the phosphorescence in Cowichan Bay (near my hometown in Duncan) by moonlight.
Craziest? Well I would have said the polar bear swim on New Year's day, but then I had the rare pleasure of having a shower in Tibet with *no hot water*. No comparison.
Teach, Learn, Share
there's far more stuff that I *don't* know that I'd love to learn, than that I can teach others. Still, if you want|:
- a layman's guide to quantum mechanics and string theory
- I'm reasonably good at palm reading (I have a funny story about that)
- can cook up a mean sphagetti alfredo
- I can also show you how to drink cognac like a russian general.
Currently, I'm working on:
- my salsa and latin dance skills (Tango, anyone?)
- German and Mandarin--the language as opposed to the fruit
- I can teach some pretty solid jiu-jitsu and/or hapkido, would love some other martial arts or tai chi
