About Me

I'm an INTP who laugh ecstatically and I like people with wrinkles on the outer corner of their eyes while smiling. Most of the times I'm not a chattery person, but an engaging conversation would definitely catch my attention.

I like street photography, but I'd rather taking it easy, one shot at a time. Some of the shots I took are displayed on: http://instagram.com/visualdisposal ~ This particular hobby is in accordance with an activity that I enjoy the most: strolling around the city/village, sinking in its vibe and absorbing its surroundings, especially the "old" part of it. I've always loved the oldtown charm and I'm a huge fan of art deco paraphernalia!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I knew about CouchSurfing in 2009 after attending a "sharing day" [Work Camp] at Nisa's place in Cimahi [Bandung]. My campus-mate, Baridah Mutmainah, asked me to come to that event with her and there we met passionate travelers from various backgrounds with interesting traveling experiences!

My very first CouchSurfing experience was when I crashed at Ayu Norma's place in Dalung [Bali], hosted by her bestie: Miss Anita. She was also hosting two other Russian guys at that time. Amazing place, nice people, unforgettable experience indeed.

Since then, I've met many people from various backgrounds and different stories who share the same value of CouchSurfing community, and making friends worldwide. Although I haven't traveled that much, I'm happy to have new friends locally and globally, and being inspired by them.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love so many good music, but mainly the genre is around jazz, trip-hop, techno, minimal tech, deep house, chill... Something like Bonobo, Massive Attack, Brandt Brauer Frick, Gogo Penguin, Mammal Hands, Portico Quartet, Bookashade, AIR, Mylo [Myles McInnes], Agnes Obel, Brazzaville, Avishai Cohen, etc.

Enjoy some of the music I like on: https://soundcloud.com/heyhega/favorites — in addition, I also made some downloadable mixtapes in the past, which are available on: http://heyhega.tumblr.com

As for movies, I really enjoy the works of Wong Kar Wai and Stanley Kubrick among many others. One of my most favourite animation movie is: "Peur(s) du noir", which is both artsy and interesting. Other movies on my favourite list: Big Fish, Only Lovers Left Alive, Gravity, Gran Torino, Before Sunrise...

Furthermore, I enjoy reading Anthony de Mello's works, while also easily drown in the stories written by both Orhan Pamuk and Neil Gaiman. For a refreshing reading on-the-go, I would definitely grab any editions of Five Dials, which is available on: http://fivedials.com

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This might not be amazing for other people, but for me it's a personal achievement when I finally could start saving little-by-little to travel outside Indonesia, usually during Christmas holiday. I visited the neighbouring countries [Singapore and Malaysia] in 2016, also to Hong Kong and Macau in 2017.

But this spring 2018, I finally get the chance to tick the number 1 thing on my wish-list: traveling to [Western] Europe! I will depart on May 19th and will return on June 2nd. Definitely I'm very excited about it—especially because I've already got the visa and have booked all the inbound transportations within Schengen countries. I do really hope that it will run smoothly and would be one of the MOST memorable times of my life.

Fingers-crossed!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some small souvenirs from Bangkok, as well as some top tips and recommendations about traveling to Bangkok and Bali in particular. I don't cook, but I could help with a few things in the kitchen, haha... Also, I could help taking some photographs of products or interior set-up and styling. I could do some graphic design as well if necessary.

Well... basically not much, but for sure I would keep the place I'm staying as clean as it always is.
