ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Anne. I'm 27 and I'm training to be a primary school teacher for German and English. I also have a degree in German literature that I'm really quite passionate about.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I signed up for Couchsurfing a year ago, but haven't been too active since. Yet very fond of the idea, happy to be hosting whenever I can and always planning to go to events more.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Not too much 'couchsurfing couchsurfing' experience so far (see above). When I was volunteering in England, I stayed at quite a few other volunteers' places when traveling the country though, so I feel like know my way around couchsurfing at least a little bit.
Interests
Reading various books at a time, listening to music, doing improv theatre, looking at art, playing the guitar and singing (or trying to), meeting friends and riding my bike around town. I also enjoy hanging out in coffee shops during the day and dancing at night, watching random American TV shows and staying up late, talking nonsense with my flatmates.

Music, Movies, and Books
You wanna discuss pop culture? You can have it!
I like movies directed by Woody Allen and Martin Scorsese, and I think I'm getting into Wes Anderson, too. Other than that: indie films about people who are slightly messed up and lonely, but somehow okay when the film ends (Greenberg might be one of those). I also have a thing for 'huge' movies sometimes.
Kevin Devine, Bright Eyes, Bob Dylan, Ryan Adams, Mumford&Sons, Belle and Sebastian, 90s Britpop, Arcade Fire, The xx, Metronomy, other random electro. I get weirdly enthusiastic about Katy Perry and Call Me Maybe as well.
Murakami, McEwan, Hesse, Kafka, Kracht, Stuckrad-Barre, Kästner, Kehlmann
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm really proud of finishing two master's degrees while working two jobs. I think it sounds pretty cool.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm kind of good with German / English grammar and stuff, so I could help you with that. We can also play songs on the guitar together (I can teach you the chords) or I could show you how to make super-easy-fudgy chocolate cake.
I'd love learning about other languages or, indeed, anything practical (like, how do I fix the brakes on my bike?).
