About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be exhausted by the end of every day.

ABOUT ME

I have a strong desire to experience as much as I can in my short life. I've helped a small company grow into an industry leader for one year, I've raised two fantastic little girls for 1.5 years (ages 1 and 2), I've done HIV pharmaceutical research for 1 year. I went to University of California, Irvine, did some student films there and led some psychological experiments (nice ones) and got a BA in cognitive psychology. I interned at a hospital for a year. Now, I've quit my job and finished school, so I'm traveling around.

PHILOSOPHY

"Fookin' prawns"- Wikus van de Merwe, may angels shed a single tear for your memory~

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I'm not sure yet: I don't have a couch to call my own. If I did, you can bet I'd be all over lending it out. As is, I'm looking forward to finding my first couch host and getting to know them and their area.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Registering for the website, which has been just fantastic, by the way.

Interests

Rock climbing, hiking, bike riding, surfing, how things go together, why things work, science in general, people, gadgets, networking (both of the previous two things), how to grow businesses and people and herbs, brewing beer, modifying game systems, electronics, peculiar and interesting avenues of making a living, seeing new places, and I'm very intensely and broadly interested in cultures, both local and national.

Music, Movies, and Books

Godel, Escher, Bach; My Tank is Fight; To Kill a Mockingbird; Bad Gods; Good Omens.

I've enjoyed some fine movies, but none shall ever surpass Masterminds (1997), starring Patrick Stewart with a tiny mustache. Stewart takes over a small boarding school, only to be toppled by a cantankerous young outcast hacker! This timeless character strikes a chord with me because we both pirate games and have long hair.

I like just about all music, even more now that I've picked up Brutal Legend. From Bach to rock to Tupac, in that order.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Working at the hospital, I once had a 45 minutes conversation with a paranoid schizophrenic. Saw two girls take their first steps and say their first words. Experienced New York city, one of the most breathtaking places I have ever been, just in terms of people. I got to eat at the Spotted Pig and Prune there

Teach, Learn, Share

I can explain quantum physics, most biology and chemistry, I have a good handle on physics, english, and oration, though it depends on the area. I can cook Indian food quite well, as well as a variety of other dishes, though I could bone up on my steak. I know how to brew beer, and I can help you modify your gaming console, more than likely. 360s and PS3s are tricky, though, but Wiis and prior are fantastic in the degree that their homebrew has grown. Cell phones, pdas, etc. are also something I've dealt with. I fixed my own radiator, and I know how to tackle other car issues, and I hope you can teach me more about how the systems work and interconnect.

To learn, I'm interested in anything related to science, AT ALL. I'm also interested in theory, be it artistic, philosophical, rhetoric, or other. And if you can teach me how to rock climb, I am all yours.
