About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy life, as it passes so quickly !

ABOUT ME

I have always loved travelling. As a student, I hitch-hiked most of Europe on my own. But there comes the time when you settle down. So I did, too.

I have a wonderful husband, three already grown-up children and a dog. With the kids becoming more and more independent, more prospects for travelling arise.

Professionally, I run a small translation agency together with a friend. I like my job, as it keeps my mind busy.
In my leisure time, I love walking up and climbing the mountains; singing (I am a member of a small folk ensemble called 'Czarolija'); making home-made wines.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live.
Enjoy life, as it passes so quickly.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music, be it classical music or smooth jazz, rock or folk. I also enjoy listening to music experiments (though live only :-).
Films that tell you something about the world and humans. A few favourites I can recall now include Amadeus and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by M. Forman, Once Upon a Time in America, Wild at Heart, Underground and other movies by Kusturica, Apocalipsa Now, Before Sunrise.
Books: Iris Murdoch, John Irving, John Le Carre to name just a few fiction writers. I also like travel memoirs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Brought up three wonderful children (now grown-up) or climbed Kilimanjaro? Which of them is more exceptional ?

What I Can Share with Hosts

A comfortable bed, maybe a day in town (depending on my schedule), a meal, a glass (bottle ?) of wine
