About Me

CURRENT MISSION

travel as much as I can, learn something everyday from the people around me

ABOUT ME

My friends would describe me as easy-going and open-minded. I love to read, write, travel. I love art and art museums. I enjoy the outdoors through hiking, biking, and running! I love the beach and the mountains, but I also love exploring cities and all of its wonders. I try to live a balanced life. I take school very seriously and hope to continue on with my education after University- not just formal education, but learning from my travels and the people I meet. Teaching is my passion- I love my students! When I grow up, I want to be an English teacher or History teacher. I hope to travel all over Asia this year and meet people who can add to my life!

PHILOSOPHY

"and the trouble is, if you don't risk anything, you risk even more."

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Music, Movies, and Books

movies: i love studio ghibli
music: radiohead! sigur ros, the beatles, bloc party, bright eyes, tupac
I totally LOVE live music. MUSIC FESTIVALS ARE MY FAVORITE!!! I've been to Treasure Island Music Festival twice and Outsidelands Music Festival once (3 days). I've been to free music festivals in the Bay Area as well. Hopefully I can travel and go to more music festivals outside of the Bay Area.
books: the autobiography of malcolm x, to kill a mockingbird, daughter of fortune, kafka on the shore, the picture of dorian gray, calvin and hobbes

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I appreciate the little things in life. The food in Bangkok is absolutely delicious- I especially love fresh coconuts. Taxi Rides on Ko Phangan were so fun- basically we sit on the back of pick up trucks with built in seats. The drivers are a bit reckless, driving fast in the dark. I felt so free on those taxi rides!

The most bizarre weather I've experienced is in Virginia. The lightning is beautiful and the sky lights up into a grey-purple.

I was impressed with Singapore's MRT system. It's so efficient and clean. Singapore itself was amazing to me.

BALI has been my favorite trip so far. Lightning bugs. Stars. Lightning. Rice fields. The colours! The people! THE FOOD! I must go back!

... we can continue this conversation when we meet :D
