About Me

Hi there! I'm Hien - turning 23 this year. I was born and grew up in Hanoi - the capital of Viet Nam.

Currenty I'm a fresh graduate from Diplomatic Academy and finished my study in International Economics (which I have zero interest in, but you'll find it normal in Vietnam when people study what they don't like)

My current mission is to live every-single-day to the fullest. I have met hundreds of people from all over the world when they came to my city when being a volunteer tour guide. I'm thrilled by the stories about what they've been through. So basically, I want to be like them, I mean, to be the person who travels and knows much about culture and stuff like that.

I can be a typical introvert. I'm good at listening. But when needed, I can be talkative and ask people a thousand questions. And I'm ready to share what I had learnt, what I know, and absolutely, recommend you where to go, what to eat, how to do it like a local when you stay at my home.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first knew about Couchsurfing when coming across this term in some of my fav books.
I have an infinite passion for language and culture. I can spend hours talking, sharing, learning about it.

Interests

I suppose one of the most amazing thing one can experience from traveling is to enjoy the local food. So basically, I do eat all the time.

I can play the musical instruments (I possess a piano, an electric keyboard, a guitar and a few more lol my dream is to bring the whole orchestra to home) . I love it when there's harmony echoing in the house. Besides, I am also experienced in teaching kids how to play the piano.

One big fact about me is I simple love reading (accompanied with a cup of chamomile tea) and writing for myself (even though I suck at literature).

Teach, Learn, Share

In day time, I work for an NGO - the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam. In the evenings, I am an IELTS teacher.

Otherwise, I work as an English private tutor.

I must say I'm happy with everything I'm doing, even though I always have a hectic schedule.

I also had good time teaching Vietnamese (to foreigners) and piano (to kids) as a volunteer - when I was still in college

There was quite a long time I used to be a voluntary city tour-guide in Hanoi.

I would love to learn and share anything related to music, arts, history, culture, language and education.
