ABOUT ME
In order to avoid mere survival, I value: Awake > AsleepOut > In Busy > BoredWeird > Typical Quality > QuantityRespected > Liked Practicality > IdealismInspiration > Perspiration Attempting to light a candle > Cursing the darknessAsceticism > Hedonism Temporary pain of discipline > permanent pain of regretSocrates dissatisified > fool satisfied > pig satisfiedLooking together in the same direction > gazing at each otherWho > why> where > what > when "I prefer to be true to myself, even at the hazard of incurring the ridicule of others > rather than to be false, and to incur my own abhorrence." 10,000 miles = 10,000 books"I respect you" = "I love you"Happiness = success, NOT success = happinessMoney's only paper, only ink. Please do not ever kill time in my presence."It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop."And lastly, the reason why I am on this website is because wanderlust, fernweh, "restless legs" syndrome, the travel bug...whatever the name, I think I've got it.
PHILOSOPHY
Uhh..let's put my neuroscience degree finally to good use..Well, I think I am one of those individuals who has very low baseline cortical activity in my ascending reticular activating system and therefore need to constantly and always seek outside stimulation, novelty and sensations in order to raise my internal arousal levels to an ideal rate. I want to try everything, everyone, everywhere, I want to live so as to have "no regrets when the worms come, for they shall surely come."Another lesson I'm slowly but very surely learning: people matter most of all, above anything/anywhere/anytime/anywhat/anyhow else. Life is better with company. If you cook a good meal, alone it is tasteless.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
After my couchsurfing experience in NYC, I appreciated the CouchSurfing community as one of the most tight-knit, warm, and open communities I've ever been a part of. Plus, seriously, they are THE freakin' coolest, most interesting, coolest, most well-traveled, most open-minded, coolest, and friendliest group of strangers (turned close friends) I've ever met. Thanks, CS Community, for making strange cities not so strange <3
Interests
"Ships?
Sure I'll sail them
Show me the boat,
If it'll float,
I'll sail it."
I'm quite honestly up for anything, particularly if it's new and/or stimulating.

Music, Movies, and Books
"Patrick actually used to be popular before Sam bought him some good music."
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
According to my mother, I could die 50 different ways simply by walking outside my house. Should I tell her I've partied in Bangkok's Red Light District and was mercilessly beat in consecutive games of Connect Four by a ladyboy? Or slept on the floor of a strange frat house in Washington D.C. after hitchhiking there one spontaneous Fourth of July weekend? Or tunneled through the underground caves of Austin, or became a member of Bob Avakian's cultish Revolutionary Communist Party in north Harlem? Nah. ;)
