About Me

I am married with adult children.
From Boston.
I live in New Bedford, Mass.
I enjoy art, music and literature.
I drink gas station coffee.
I am a semi retired commercial fisherman.
I work for DPW at Burning Man.
I am a Tour Manager, Merch guy, PA type who has toured with punk bands.
I do graphic design for bands/musicians or otherwise just as a visual outlet for creativity. .
I also write doggerel poetry.

I normally travel for a few months in the US annually and wander in a controlled fashion to see America. This helps to recharge my spiritual batteries. I ride Freight trains, hitchhike, take cl rideshares or fly; sometimes synchronized together while accepting temporary vows of poverty. I move slow or cheap while utilizing nontraditional modes of travel to explore the hidden intersections of geography and humanity.

PHILOSOPHY: Illogical Logistics
To go where I want, when I want without regard to how much cash I have. Travel direction does not dictate destination. Since the universe has a funny way of aligning itself and connecting those of us in it to exactly where we are supposed to be; its best to embrace all that is magical, spontaneous and serendipitous and just hang on for the ride.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have surfed while traveling and I really enjoy connecting with the random people whom I encounter on the road or hanging out with others who are traveling to/through New Bedford, Massachusetts.

Interests

Living the simple life and avoiding capitalism when ever possible. Making digital art/graphic design, writing doggerel poetry, riding BMW adventure motorcycles, single speed bicycles, burning the man, collecting and wearing Adidas sneakers. I have volunteered a bunch for nonprofits doing epic shit. I crave more epic shit to do. I really want to link up with more interesting and creative people. I have become introverted some in the last decade yet prefer to be more social, active and adventurous in my daily routine while home in NBMA. I hope to continue to meet and interact with fellow eccentrics, artists, dreamers, thinkers, radicals and travelers. Lets get coffee, invite me to a party, recruit me to participate in making art, startup a biz, volunteer at a festival, attend an event or otherwise just shoot the breeze. I am not constricted by any 9-5 obligations and am free most days to simply fart around, read, listen to podcasts, peruse the internet, wander around and do self directed research on ridiculous topics that interest me. *As I write this I am making a disclosure to myself in public and to the universe that I need to obtain a bicycle since for the first times in decades I am without 1.
