ABOUT ME

I'm a student from Northern California (Berkeley, to be exact) studying in Bordeaux for a semester to improve my French. I hope to take some trips this semester and also when the school year is over and get to see as much as I can on my first trip to Europe! I'm really enjoying myself here, though I do miss the redwoods...

PHILOSOPHY

I have a lot of personal philosophies...

I believe relationships are THE most important things in life. (almost) all you need is love.

I feel obligated to affect some positive change in my world, and feel that I won't be happy in a job unless I can feel that I'm doing that.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

While I'm here I do not have any space to offer because I live with a host family. Hopefully when I return to Berkeley I'll have a couch for anyone who wants to come visit!

兴趣

I am a HUGE History nerd, especially British and French History- though all types are fun. I also love to learn how people are saving the world and to plan how I too may be able to save the world. I love all types of music, singing, and dancing (for fun, not for serious because I can't really dance). I also love politics, baking, my big Italian-American family, and children.

MUSIC
In my itunes top 25 most played: Regina Spektor, Jack Johnson, Feist, Pink Martini, Jason Mraz, Dixie Chicks, the BEATLES (quiz me- I'm an expert), I also love ABBA, Britney Spears, Shakira, Edith Piaf, Fleetwood Mac, Queen, Nirvana, Joan Baez, Rihanna, almost all Disney movie songs, and most musicals (mostly classic, but some new ones too). It's so hard to encapsulate music taste in a few sentences!

MOVIES
My movie tastes, like my music tastes, are like those of a middle aged woman. All Audrey Hepburn, all old musical movies (Guys and Dolls, West Side Story), Emma, Pride and Prejudice (BBC, not Keira Knightley), all superhero movies (esp. Spiderman and Batman), all Harry Potter, Love Actually, much more I can't think of.

BOOKS
Harry Potter, Jane Austen, John Steinbeck, Ernest Hemingway, Room With a View, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay-- I've gotten really behind on my reading for pleasure since I got to college!
