ABOUT ME

Hello, this is Katrina. I'm about to graduate by the end of 2009. That's why I wanna go to travel with my friends just before we graduate and this is how I get to know CouchSurfing for the first time. It makes me so excited to stay in hosts and get closer to the local culture.

And a little about myself, I can be very quiet on my own but I'll be getting very energetic when I am with friends. I like to have fun and try the new things out - especially the exotic and the exciting ones!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As I did some travelling before when I was on exchange in Norway for half a year in 2008, I never know there is this option. I was just staying in hostels throughout the trip - going around the city during the day, slept at night and maybe get to talk with some other travellers, but seldom got in touch with the locals. I'm really excited about CouchSurfing and I really look forward to our first couchsurfing experience!

And for visitors to my hometown, I am really happy to bring them around and treat them coffee or drinks but I really am not able to provide a place for them to sleep as you'll notice most Hong Kong homes are surprisingly small and crowded!

兴趣

Movies and books are always my no.1 interests. But when life is getting busy, going to movies is a more affordable option than reading a book, given the time limit.

I like to enjoy the nature as well as I regularly go hiking in the country park trails.

Movies: I like thrillers and detective movies, espcially the films of Coen brothers. I also like to watch the New French Wave and I enjoy some local Hong Kong movies very much.

Music: I think I would say I like indie pop, jazz, and for particular bands, it'll be a long list. But for the time being, I like the songs of mogwai.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I think the amazing thing I did would be my backpacking experience alone for about a month in Europe in 2008. I know it's not a long time compared with other backpackers, but it is surely my first tryout that I treasure for the rest of my life. During the travel, what impressed me most would be the lake and forest in Finland when I hiked in one of the national park some distance off Helsinki. The scenery was so beautiful and so peaceful that I knew I am not forgetting it forever.
