About Me
Hi there! I’m Hilal and new to Couchsurfing.
I’m currently living in Ottawa doing research in knee injuries but will in the beginning of May be travelling to the east coast with my husband Kjetil.
I love travelling and meeting new people. The thing I enjoy the most is learning about and trying to understand new cultures. This is my main reason for travelling.
I’m easy going, very funny and always ready for a new adventure!
I like doing all kinds of sports, but I mainly do football and running.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a lot of different music and will say that I have created the best playlist on Spotify. Check it out, it’s called ‘cool playlist with all my favourite songs’.
I’m mainly into tv shows but I do watch movies as well. Favourite tv shows are; greys anatomy, prison break, Silicon Valley, breaking bad, the bridge, girls, Big Bang theory.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
To take my gliders license. Flying makes me more than happy and every flight brings new adventures. One of my best flights was when I flew with 3 sea eagles at the same time. Amazing experience!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to learn something new all the time. I like learning about cultures and having deep conversations with people that have different perspectives than myself.
I have done volunteering work in Nepal where I worked at the busiest district hospital in the country and lived with a local family. This has giving my a lot of funny and great stories I would love to share with you.
My next volunteering work will be in Nicaragua where I will be installing hemodialysis machines at four hospitals. I can talk to you about the health crisis Nicaragua is fighting at the moment and how a dialysis machine works, down to the smallest detail.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can teach you about clouds, knees and I’ll fix your rubik’s cubes.
I’m also a decent cook and can prepare both Danish and Turkish meals.
