About Me

I am sorry but I DO NOT host males, as I am living with my family and they are quite conservative about it.

####

Hi. I'm Hilal! :-) Right now I am living in Berlin, Germany, even though I wish to be back in Jogja, Indonesia. I have lived in Indonesia for some time and fell in love with everything. I found peace in the chaotic busy streets, friendly people and nature. But for now, I am based in Germany again.

I do not really know how to introduce myself... but let me try: I am a huge foodie - but who isn't right? I might say... I travel for food. As I do not want to miss anything out. I love getting to know people and learn about different cultures. It feels like not only learning about others but about oneself, too.

I love learning languages, which does not mean that I am good at any of them. Guess it is just interesting to somehow communicate and understand others in their own language. Even if my knowledge is as basic as possible.

Friends tell me I am somehow a social butterfly, even though I think I am not so social as I am very shy and nervous around strangers. Guess I am just good at playing it cool. Good that no one actually can see my heart beating like crazy or the weird mind-cinema thingie going on in my head. XD Maybe I am just a non-social social butterfly or a social non-social butterfly?
Whatever it is, I enjoy the company of other people. And I do love to have a lot of me-time, too. Besides rewatching Friends from the beginning to the end I love reading books. Currently, I am reading "How to Win Friends & Influence People" by Dale Garnegie - getting so many weird looks because of the title, but I am enjoying it so far. Oh wow, okay, in combination with the first part of this paragraph this title sounds... well.. Okay.... nevermind. :D

Interests

too many.....but: these days I'm into tarot and astrology. I don't do tarot readings to predict the future or anything, I try to use it on a more personal level... to somehow reflect on things. That is why I don't do any tarot reading for other people but for myself only. The characteristics of the zodiac signs really interest me, that is why I am trying to learn more about them. Daily horoscopes etc are not my kind of thing though.

I love reading books. My current read is "How to Win Friends & Influence People" by Dale Garnegie other books you can find on my desk are "Spiritual Tarot" by Signe Echols (to learn the basics of the symbolism found in the cards. When laying cards I usually read them intuitively and do not really stick to a book) as well as "Therapeutic Journal Writing" by Kate Thompson. I've figured that journaling when I feel low or full of negative energy is a relief and I wanted to try out a different style of journaling hence the book.
On my to read are Yuval Noah Harari's "Sapiens" as well as "On Identity" by Amin Maloouf.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

living in Indonesia

Teach, Learn, Share

- I can teach some turkish and german phrases - but I'm a "pretty bad teacher though". I put this in "..", because I quoted a friend of mine. :3

- I like cooking and would be so happy if you could teach me something yummy to cook.

- we can talk and share about culture! Or you just lay down and listen to my stories about a turkish girl raised in germany, now studying in Indonesia.
