About Me

CURRENT MISSION

After more than 11 months of traveling, I have just over three weeks left before returning to the United States. I want to make these last three weeks as memorable as possible. I currently live in the South of France.

ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Colorado, I am 100% a "Colorado girl." The Mountains are my backyard and I love everything outdoors. Travel is one of my passions and understanding new cultures is a bonus. I am very open-minded and I simply want to enjoy life. I am an open book, so ask away if you have any questions.

PHILOSOPHY

I left for my adventure abroad in January 2014. In my journal, my incredible mother left me a note. She gave me eight instructions that, since I have been abroad, I have tried to uphold. They are:

1) Look up and see the remarkable architecture on top of the buildings. Oma taught me that.

2) Always look like you know where you are going, even if you don't

3) People are inherently good. Interact with your host residents and embrace their culture

4) Trust your instincts and inner voice. It is your biggest guide

5) Always be aware and try not to travel alone

6) I have an invisible but very real safety net

7) I love you ALWAYS and FOREVER

8) "Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail" (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

I have adopted my Mother's words to be my own personal truths. Everyday, I strive.

Teach: The Middle East. Only second to travel and culture, it has been my passion and area of study for the past four years; It is a region of which I am profoundly attached. I can also teach you how to drink water through your nose.
Learn: Oh my, couch surfing in general is a learning experience. Share with me your culture and I will happily listen. :)
Share: I hope to take what I learn back to the United States.
