ABOUT ME

I am currently in school at the University of Texas at Austin studying psychology. It took me a while to get accepted, but I'm not really one to give up easily.

What I'm most excited about right now is the Texas 4000. For 71 days in the Summer of 2013 I will be riding my bike with a group of students from the University of Texas at Austin to raise money for cancer research. Texas 4000 is dedicated to fighting cancer by sharing Hope, Knowledge and Charity. We cultivate the next generation to lead the fight against cancer through our cornerstone event, a more than 4,500-mile bike ride from Austin, TX to Anchorage, AK.

I worked in Yellowstone National Park, which is the World's first (and best) national park. That job gave me a greater appreciation of the carefree lifestyle that I have led, and a great love of the outdoors.

I work at a bar at the University of Texas at Austin called the Cactus Cafe. I love reading and I love it when my boss makes me a drink that I never would have thought to make for myself.

Interests

Riding bicycles around the city and to Alaska, growing out hair, nightly walks through the neighborhood, playing with tape, figuring out who I am, eating just about anything, traveling around one country at a time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked on Thoroughfare Trail in Yellowstone National park for ten miles. The trail was completely covered in wolf prints bigger than my fist. I was initially very nervous at the prospect of being eaten by a wolf (not very likely, but still . . . ) but soon felt at peace with nature and the surrounding wildlife.
