About Me

CURRENT MISSION

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music..

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in the Netherlands, and am now exploring the world outside of my windmill & cheese loving home country. I love listening to new stories, meeting people and new cultures. I believe that people can make a difference and that you never stop learning. I studied a combination of environmental studies and international development studies, as I am convinced that the only path to a sustainable future is through people and their communities.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met loads of nice, fun and super sweet people through CS. I've surfed on couches in Denmark and have been to meet ups in different places. Ignoring the creepy guys that roam around the CS waters (let's not give them any more attention than that), the overall experience has been great :D

Interests

Reading; theatre; enjoying the sun (even in summer rarely seen in the Netherlands); playing floorball; eating chocolate and food in general; listening to music and love to laugh.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music (from punkrock to classic); enjoy reading non-fiction books or at least somewhat realistic books. Greatest book: George Orwells 1984. Actually also love to watch shallow, too obvious, cliche romcoms and recently added bollywood movies to the list.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My trip to South Africa was amazing! We worked with young South Africans to kickstart their own business and they taught us about their (Zulu) culture. The whole trip was full of breathtaking moments (such as visiting the Zulu church where the kids sang for us; or the amazing strong women we met; or the kids who could just be kids at the community centre; or the angry elephant that did not wanted us near him). South Africa is such an beautiful yet complex country with great people.

Countries I’ve Visited

Denmark, Hungary, Nepal, South Africa

Countries I’ve Lived In
