ABOUT ME

Hilde loves to make her own clothes and she is really good at it, she is very creative. she also made jars out of clay for years, but a few years ago she stopped. She followed English lessons for a few years but she had to quit so now she wants to host couchsurfers and show them around in Bruges to practice her English.
Hilde also likes vegetarian food and always buys organic food.

Ignace is the principal of a small school in Ghent for blind people. He
really likes to take pictures so if you have any advice for him that would be great.

We have one daughter, Geraldine who studies in chemical engineering in Ghent. She is the one who convinced us to host couchsurfers. She has a couchsurfing profile too. She also likes to travel. She hitchhiked to Morroco where she followed a course of Arabic.

We can really enjoy small things, like talk over a glass of wine, go to the movies, listen to your travel stories,...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We are new at couchsurfing but our daughter told us it is a great experience so now we made this profile and hope to meet new, interesting people!

The first time we hosted we were very exiting but nervous. It turned out to be great. We couldn't have dreamed for a better first experience. They just felt like family. So this summer really want to host again.

We love to go to this small cinema where they don't play Hollywood movies. We love "slow" movies. Once a year there is also a local movie festival here in Bruges, MOOOV. Geraldine volunteers there, and they only show movies from asia, africa or south-america it's so great to see those movies. they are often low budget but still beautiful. One movie we say there was Departures, from Japan, really amazing. We have the dvd so we can always show it to you guys, although I'm not sure it has English subtitles...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last year I saw a dance performance from Akram Khan called Desh and that was really beautiful. I had goosebumps!
