About Me

CURRENT MISSION: travel to Winnipeg, watch the women's world cup, meet new people, explore the city!

I love to travel and see new places from the local perspective, my only wish is that I had more time to do so!

I'm a positive, upbeat person who makes the best out of every situation and enjoys caring for friends, family, and anyone I meet!

This year I am completing a year of service work at the local Seattle/King County Coalition on Homelessness doing advocacy and policy work to address the crisis of homelessness in our region and work to make our county, state, and wider community a just place for all. Social justice of all sorts (food, environment, economic, etc.) is exciting to me, but I also enjoy a break and learning about other work folks are doing in the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am hoping to travel more and am doing so on a tight budget since I am only an intern at the moment (and after am headed into social services work). In my opinion, the best way to learn/experience a new place is by talking with locals, and I hope to meet and stay with new people when I travel to hear their perspective about their home cities/towns.

In the future I would love to host people but at the moment am living in housing provided as part of my internship program and we have some rules that don't allow me to host. Hopefully this will change soon!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I studies abroad in Peru for a semester in 2013 and stayed with a host family who became my own family. Being part of this family and part of a different culture was quite a phenomenal experience and I was lucky enough to visit again in 2014!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share smiles, good discussions, and stories (ask me about sleeping on an Oak Savannah Prairie in the middle of nowhere as part of a two week road trip across the US). I also enjoy cooking and can prepare food to share!

Countries I’ve Visited

Brazil, Canada, Chile, England, France, Ireland, Mexico, Peru, Sweden, Uruguay
