ABOUT ME

For Terry Pratchett aficionados, I have been described (by my Dearly Beloved) as being part Capt. Carrot, part Havelock Vetenari, and part Death. And definitely not anything like Sam Vimes. Not sure whether that's good or bad since she's not specified which aspects of them! Hopefully other Surfers will make up their own minds.
Been around a bit: Conceived in York, gestated in Scotland, Born in Staffs. Brought up in Wales and Essex. Dragged off to Darkest Africa to finish schooling and University. Been teacher explorer and bioscientist.

PHILOSOPHY

How does anyone participate in CS! I host surfers and occasionally surf myself. And try to attend get togethers anytime there is one in my area..

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted several surfers - many other inquiries thwarted by events. Plus couchsurfed just once myself - which vindicated the whole idea; a really pleasant experience.Never met a surfer with whom I've not got along.

Intereses

Books, Nature, legends. Pretty much Life, the Universe, and Everything. Running wild and free over field, forest and heath, especially with Dearly Beloved and the mighty mutts. Enjoy growing my own food, eating it( and other food) experimental cookery and living with Nature eg: camping.

Eclectic - I read a lot and like a large range of music and films. Music: Classical, jazz, and modern right up to current.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Travelled Trans-Africa with a group of mates. One special place we went (of many) was Oldupai Gorge. It felt like completing a long journey.
