About Me

I am Priyanka, widely known as 'Hippie Hindustani.' This name reflects my essence—traveling freely, exploring deeply, and living simply. I am a solo, slow, and raw traveler. I don’t just visit places; I stay to observe, listen, and truly experience the soul of a culture.
Professionally, I am a content writer and a digital creator

Beyond work, my life is guided by the philosophy that Humanity is the greatest religion. I live by kindness and compassion, and I firmly believe that 'Karma never loses an address'—nature always finds its balance in the end.

I believe in Minimalism and travel light, often in my preferred boyish ethnic attire. I seek authentic, raw experiences rather than 'fancy' tourism. I am deeply attracted to rural life, farming, and understanding social realities, especially those related to basic needs, farmers, children, and women in rural India.

My Journey:
Traveling solo across India, I’ve realized that travel is about connection. I have met incredible people who changed my perspective, and I can confidently say that India is safe and beautiful for solo female travelers if you stay aware. My journey is no longer just about exploring places; it’s about exploring myself and the kindness of people.

Hosting in India:

If you want to experience the 'Real India,' my ancestral home in Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh )is always open for you. My family and I would love to host you with local food, village life experiences, and genuine warmth. If you are in Delhi (Faridabad), you are welcome to stay at my home there for simple living and good conversations.

You may arrive as a stranger, stay as a guest, and leave as a part of the family.

Note -:
In Varanasi, my home is located in a village 100km away from the main city. All types of transport are available to reach there, except for the Metro

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because I believe that the best way to understand a place is through its people, not its monuments. As a solo traveler, I seek authentic human connections and raw experiences that you simply can't find in hotels or guest houses.

I want to exchange stories, learn about different lifestyles, and see the world through the eyes of a local. For me, Couchsurfing is a way to build a global family based on trust, kindness, and mutual respect. I am here to learn, to share my journey as 'Hippie Hindustani,' and to contribute to a community that believes in humanity above everything else.

I truly want to thank Couchsurfing from the bottom of my heart. This platform has allowed me to meet incredible souls from all around the world, giving me the courage to keep traveling solo and making my journey more meaningful. Every meeting teaches me something new, and for that, I am forever grateful.

Interests

I am deeply interested in understanding real life — people, culture, and different ways of living.

Slow & Raw Traveling: Exploring places without a hurry, staying long enough to feel the soul of a village. I prefer experiences that are raw, simple, and real over fancy travel.

Rural Life & Farming: I am deeply attracted to village life and farming because they feel authentic and connected to nature.

Social Realities: I am curious about social issues, especially those related to children and women, and how people navigate them in different parts of the country.

Documenting Stories: Collecting and sharing authentic stories of people who are often ignored by mainstream media. I love listening to locals and learning from their life experiences.

Human Connections: I value meaningful conversations and building genuine bonds. Sometimes, I also enjoy just observing life quietly or sitting in silence.

Stargazing & Nature: Spending nights under the open sky, whether in the mountains or the desert.

Offbeat Routes: Walking on trails that are not on Google Maps and discovering the unseen.

Minimalist Living: Traveling light and living simply with only what is necessary.

Boyish Ethnic Style: I prefer a practical and comfortable lifestyle, reflected in my choice of boyish ethnic clothing.

Music, Movies, and Books

My choices in music, books, and movies completely depend on my mood at the moment.

Music: Sometimes I want to dive into Bhojpuri or Rajasthani folk music, and other times I prefer the soul of Hindi songs. But often, my favorite music is the silence of nature—the sound of birds and the environment around me.

Books: Depending on what I’m feeling, I pick up books on science, literature, or social issues. I also have a soft spot for suspense stories and novels that keep me hooked.

Movies: I mostly lean towards Science Fiction, Suspense, and films that highlight social issues, but again, it all follows my mood.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have pledged to donate my entire body and organs to AIIMS Delhi, as I believe in being of service to humanity even beyond life.

As a solo woman traveler, I stepped out to explore the raw and real heart of India across multiple states, from the deserts of Rajasthan to the backwaters of Kerala. One of my most profound experiences was visiting 100+ villages across the valleys of Himachal Pradesh (Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, and Malana) in just two months.

Staying in remote villages for weeks, living a minimalist life with local families, and connecting with people whose stories never reach the mainstream media has been the most meaningful part of my journey. This experience has taught me that the greatest adventure is the kindness of strangers, and it has given me a deep, powerful connection with the real India.
