About Me

CURRENT MISSION

eating my way around the globe

ABOUT ME

Middle-aged professional software goon married to a very nice bird scientist. Back in the United States after a bit of time living in Copán Ruinas, Honduras. Enjoy good food, good conversation, and good people. I cook often, and love learning new dishes to bring home to my friends and family here in the States.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My wife and I rent one half of a duplex in Venice, CA. We share the place with two friendly, but dirty dogs. We have a spare couch in the front room and a shelf full of delicious sour beers. You may have access to only one of these two things - choose wisely.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted many a-traveler over the ten-ish years that I've been on CouchSurfing. Not any since moving to Los Angeles - but perhaps that will soon change!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Oldboy, Black Cat White Cat, Brazil, Sympathy for XYZ, Platoon, Search and Destroy, foreign flicks.

Books: Heinlein, Jack Keroac, crappy science fiction (yes I have excluded Heinlein, thanks), Philip K Dick, Tom Wolfe, Persepolis (is it a book?)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I asked my now-wife to marry me while scuba diving. That's pretty cool, right?

Teach, Learn, Share

I am good with computers, good with people, and good with food. You could probably drop me off in the jungle with a piece of twine and a cantelope and I'd make friends within the hour. Or at the very least I could make them a website or cook a nice brunch.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Barbados, Canada, England, France, Guatemala, Honduras, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Wales

Countries I’ve Lived In

Honduras, Mexico, United States
