About Me

Im Hiram, I used to be active in Couchsurf but took a break while finishing college. I am now back at it and hopefully will be doing some traveling and if possible taking people out and making friends.

I am a very easy going, laid back person. Im a cultural geek, amateur photographer, foodie, and an explorer. Not necessarily into the clubbing scene, but I do enjoy a night out and some drinks.

I am very open minded and expect friends/hosts/visitors to be as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

the chances of meeting interesting and fun people that enjoy that same things as I do are great.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Everything! from Adele to the Killers, going through Mumford and Sons and the latest top 40.
Movies: Fantasy, Disney, Sci-Fi.
Books: Into the wild, Into thin air.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

White water rafting, boat safari and then Bungee Jumping over the Nile river in Uganda. While visiting, the motorcycle I was on broke down in the middle of nowhere and had to walk to the closest populated area, which happened to be one of the most prominent Internally Displaced People's Camp. While there I got to talk and see the realities of a war-torn region (which are definitely not what you expect, much less stereotypical and much more amazing).

While living in France I got to explore the lesser known villages, and experience the real vie à la française. While not as adventurous, some of the amazing things i got to do include attending the Cannes Film Festival, taking trips to the forest to pick up apples and wild mushrooms, and then backpacking across a few countries.

I also got to live in California for about 2 years, going back and forth between LA and San Diego, working for a non-profit that produces documentaries. As part of the events team I got to many exciting things like: public speaking in front of celebrities and politicians, attending movie awards, be a part of the most viral video in internet history, and road trip across the U.S. multiple times.

Teach, Learn, Share

Im constantly learning, and hopefully I get to practice some Italian while traveling. I can also help anyone learning spanish, french or english.

More than that, I have a few cool experiences under my sleeve that I would love to share and talk about. With experience in Human Rights, viral videos, and social media, a good conversation is to be expected.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hey, tell me where I can find some tortillas and I promise the best mexican food you will ever have.

I can help anyone interested in learning spanish, english, and to a lesser degree french.
