CURRENT MISSION

I'm a PhD student in musicology, looking to travel as much as possible on a student's budget. My girlfriend and I will be traveling together this summer, in Belgium, Czech Republic, and Germany.

ABOUT ME

Well, I studied classical music at university; I play the upright bass. Music is my passion. I'm always playing, listening, or going to concerts.
I lived in Japan for about 4 years. I spent 2 years on a small island before moving to Hiroshima city. I loved it there.

I'm now in Chicago, USA, working on a PhD.

I strongly believe in Karma, and if you do good, and help people out, you will be rewarded at some point down the road.
I'm also a socialist at heart, so the concept of this website appeals to me.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Japan is an expensive country to visit. If I was able help someone's trip by shaving off of their hotel bills, then I was happy to do so. I met some great people who were traveling around the world and I was happy to offer a free place for them in Hiroshima. I'm traveling to Europe in July, 2015 with my girlfriend and we are hoping to meet great people through couchsurfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted a number of people in Hiroshima. As of yet, have not surfed myself but we are looking to in July, 2015.

Possibly the coolest trip I've taken was spending a week rafting down the Grand Canyon. That is a remarkable place.
