About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To visit everywhere country in the world

ABOUT ME

I recently quit my job and am off on some travels for a few months. I'm starting in Europe without a defined itinerary and am then heading to Ethiopia and the US. I'd like to try my hand at travel writing as well.

I'm a huge traveller. Have been to 70 countries so far and have around 120 to go. A few of my highlights include anything and everything in Tibet, gorilla trekking in Rwanda, climbing Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and a larger mountain in Bolivia, getting bitten by a scorpion in Nicaragua, tramping in New Zealand and trekking through Laos.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've had great experiences couchsurfing in the UK and Italy and am looking to meet some more wonderful people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've done it in Italy and the UK and had very good experiences.

Interests

Basketball, soccer, skiing, photography, world cinema, (a very select portion of) hip hop, anything that produces adrenaline, and, of course, travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

Korean, European and South American cinema

Music - Bahamas, Heartless Bastards, Noah and the Whale, Beirut and many others.

Books - I only tend to read when I travel and often pick up books about the history of the country. I love mountaineering books and have a secret desire to be a mountaineer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The hardest thing I've ever done was climb Huayna Potosi in Bolivia. At 20,000ft (6,088m), it's kinda big and having not slept for days and suffering from altitude sickness it probably wasn't a good idea to make the final ascent but I somehow did, got the preliminary stages of frostbite in my big toe, couldn't balance properly on the way down and slept for 15 hours straight the following night. For some reason I enjoyed all of this.
