About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see the world that exists outside of your average travel guide
ABOUT ME
I'm from Perth, Western Australia which is considered to be the most isolated capital city in the world. Ever since finishing high school I ever wanted to do was jump on a plane and explore the world. Due to being in a band which gained some moderate success around the time I was at University, I made the decision to stick around a bit longer, finish off my degree and see where the music would take me. As I have such a strong love for music it made sense to give the music world a solid chance.
Last year I finally took the leap and put my life here on hold in search of adventure. I spent 8 months travelling the world which included 3 months travelling through the USA/Canada and a stint managing a party hostel in Lisbon, Portugal called 'The G-Spot'. The trip was a once in a lifetime experience for me and I don't think I would change a single thing even if the opportunity was there to do so. The good with the bad, it was all one incredible adventure!
Due to my restlessness since returning home, i'm setting off again to the USA on September 22, 2013 for a few weeks to try keep the travel bug at bay. I'll be landing in LA, spending some time in Santa Monica and then visiting Nashville, New Orleans, Austin and Las Vegas. Hopefully I'll see some of you lovely CSers along the way :)
Other fun facts about me:
- I'm an identical twin (My brother lives in Nashville)
- I like outdoor adventure activities
- I love the heat - 40degree + days at the beach are my favourite
- I come from an English family
- I support Tottenham Hotspur FC in the English Premier League
PHILOSOPHY
You only get one shot at being young, so make the most of it! Your life is only as restricted as you make it so get out there and have some fun - see the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Throughout the USA I was lucky enough to meet and surf with plenty of CSers. Every experience was unique and 100x better than that of staying in a hostel. In Portland I was taken to local dive bars in the east I would never have found had I been by myself. In Seattle I climbed a Mountain with my host. In Chicago I went to a show called 'The Sunday Night Sex Show'. Every couch surfing experience comes with local knowledge - something that can never be obtained from a book.
Upon arriving in Europe I immediately needed to get some work to prolong my trip. I was lucky enough to obtain work in Lisbon, Portugal at by far the greatest hostel in the world. I think the reason that It was so appealing to me was that we treated it like one giant share-house and it felt a lot more like a CS experience than a hosteling one so I felt right at home. Once I left Portugal I checked in to a hostel in Amsterdam and was immediately reminded of why I enjoy couchsurfing so much more. From there on at every opportunity I slept on any floor that became a available to me. By far my European hosteling highlight was spending new years in Prague with 4 of the wildest, craziest, most enjoyable people I've met in my life. It was an experience I'll never forget that included jamming in a lounge room, throwing fireworks in the street, drinking in a basement bar and cooking a turkey!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last year I played a game of indoor soccer with Groove Armada, The Wombats, Dan Black and Bizzy P.
I have been lucky enough to play shows with my band in Nashville, TN.
I spent over two months working in Lisbon at Lisbon's only party hostel where I ran nightly pub crawls. Although not the healthiest lifestyle, it is certainly one I will never forget!
