About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Getting to know the world, one person at a time.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in living in the moment, in loving human beings before knowing them, in being honest.
Howard Zinn basically summed it up a few years ago when he said that “to be hopeful in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of cruelty but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, kindness. And, if we do act, in however small a way, we don’t have to wait for some grand, utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents, and, to live now, as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is, in itself, a marvelous victory.”
If I can go to bed every night knowing that those near and dear to me are safe, loved, and content, I know I have lived a day with no regrets.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
A few friends of mine have had great experiences CouchSurfing in the past and recommended that I use this as a tool when I'm traveling this summer! I hope to build a CouchSurfing resume soon, though :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I am an avid reader. From Harry Potter to Bukowski, I enjoy almost any and every genre of literature. In particular, I love Spanish literature. A little Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Pablo Neruda, or Alfredo Becquer (to name a few) can turn any day into a marvelous one.
The same can be said about music. I recently discovered The Gotan Project, Carla Bruni, and Chambao. These three bands happen to be large parts of my musical preferences at the moment. But I do enjoy almost any and every thing, especially some trance and drum and bass!
The same can also be said about my taste in movies. A few of my all time favorites are Gladiator, V for Vendetta, El Laberinto del Fauno (Pan's Labyrinth), Diarios de Motocicleta (The Motorcycle Diaries), Finding Nemo, and last but definitely not least Mary and Max.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to share and I love to learn. Whether they are stories, recipes, or skills, most exchanges and human interactions are memorable ones for me.
