About Me
ABOUT ME
I was born in London and like to be anywhere in the world but my own country - I think the British are a little institutionally depressed or suppressed! I've spent a lot of time in Asia - lived in KL for my first year of uni, worked in Hong Kong twice, travelled to China a lot for work and studied for a time in Beijing.
I think that working and just having fun in any country can offer life-altering lessons and make you a richer person. I love China for the determination of its people, Malaysia for its comfort, the Philippines for the hospitality of the people, India for its incredibly diverse and accepting culture, the US for the innovativeness and adaptability of the people, Canada for having the best of British, US and French cultures and more besides...and I could go on. I guess I'm trying to say that every country is different and it is hard to say that any one is better than another. The situation of the people in different places have evolved from dynamic processes and no single place should be over or under rated.

Music, Movies, and Books
2010:
Almost anything factual
2012:
My views have evolved. My gf said 'I think you missed out on a major part of your education by ignoring literature'. Guilty! Now I read more widely, but still have a bias to non-fiction ;)
Recommended: Logicomix, Oscar Wilde, Ayn Rand, Aung San Suu Kyi, Joseph Heller, Alice Schroeder...
