About Me

Who am I? Sometimes I don't know myself. I mean I change so often, sometimes a few times during the day. So whatever I write now is only my viewing point at this moment.

My first real travel over 4 years ago changed my life completely and since this day it still changes every now and then. And I'm getting better at accepting the change as the only constant thing in my life.

I've lived in communities, modern and classic ones, I've slept a lot of times in my tent somewhere in nature, I've slept in parks. I've done street music for a while. I've worked in different summer camps and outdoor camps over Europe. I've done quite a bit of wwofing and lots of couchsurfing. But also when at my parents place (my home?!) I do nothing but listening to music and reading books. I love adrenalin and extreme sports (rock climbing, mountain biking, snow boarding, surfing, skate boarding) but also I can be very calm and let's say, spiritual. For a while I've been looking for the deeper meaning of life, and always came back to myself. So I'm trying to take time for myself and to tune in with what is inside of me (and everyone). So I honestly don't know who I am, maybe you can tell me more?

Just a few random things that have been part of my journey for a while now.

I'm vegan and minimalist. I'm caring about the world we live in and everything we share it with, people, animals, trees...
I respect and I'm interested in everybody who has something to share, I love people who are themselves and who are not copying or who are not influenced by society.
I love and play music, mainly guitar, also harmonica and a bit of singing here and then.
I love the outdoors and being as close as possible to nature. But also I find my enjoyment in cities.
I usually hitchhike and stay with locals, couchsurfing or just people I meet.
I love kids, working with them. And I'm a kid myself, hopefully forever.

In my opinion travelling is not about seeing as many different places and doing as many things as possible. For me it is about taking the time and having an open mind, heart and ears for the people and the culture of the country you are in. There is always so much stuff to learn!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsuring and the people I met changed my life. A few times. It is one of the best things that came to my life. I will never forget the great hospitality and I'll give it back whenever I have a place to host again.

Music, Movies, and Books

Changes to often to define it.

My favorite bands ever are Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and so on. I adore great guitarists like Hendrix, Clapton, Mark Knopfler or Santana. I totally love the Blues and did for a while nothing but listening to all Blues artists you can imagine. I love Folk, old like Neil Young or modern one. I listen to Reggea, Dub and so on. To Hard Rock, Prog Rock, Funk, Jazz, Psychedelic Rock. I like good instrumental Hip Hop or Jazz-Hop. Some electronic, some classical, some latin, some oriental, some celtic, the list goes on forever.

I've never been big into movies to be honest. Still some surely gave me something very special. I usually like serious movies, movies with a great message and witch play with and bend your mind. For example Fight Club, Memento, Seven, Inception, Life is Beautifull, The Shawshank Redemption, Schindler's list...

I read a few (maybe to many) books about spirituality and philosophy. The ones that stand out are The Power Of Now (Eckart Tolle) and Siddharta (Hermann Hesse). Also I adore the Little Prince.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have met people that changed my life.

I have been quiet and listened to the sound of silence.
