ABOUT ME
I'm Henri, I'm 26, I'm from France but over the last 5 years I've lived in Chile, Brasil, Portugal and the US. I studied engineering, and I guess I'm kind of a geek (I like sciences jokes, this website is a favorite http://www.smbc-comics.com/ ). I like learning, and teaching stuff, I like eating food I don't know, and I like laughing (but hey, who doesn't?). Like most people, I do listen a lot of music. Damn, it's hard to talk about yourself. A friend of mine once said "A good beer is always better than a long email", so I guess you'll have to meet me if you want to know more.
PHILOSOPHY
I really enjoy sharing, in its general meaning. I like learning and teaching, cooking and tasting, telling and listening... I enjoy this way of relating to others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surfed a few couchs, and a few people have surfed mine; right now I'm living in New York, with Victoire, and we're working people. We might host a few people from time to time!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I discovered couch surfing in 2009, when I was travelling in South America. I had heard of it before, but had never actually participate; like most people, I didn't really know what to expect. The experience was amazing: I was by myself, and I had a way of travelling from place to place, like if I was visiting friends. That's really the feeling I had: arriving in an unknown city, and just feeling at ease with the people I met.
I try to give that same feeling to people I host. Keeping things simple, talking sincerely, and listening carefully.
Interests
I'm curious, I like listening to anyone talking about something I don't know of, I enjoy eating new food, especially if it's weird, and I'm into music; I listen to it anytime I can, and just like food, I like it if it's weird.
Beside that, I also like sharing what I know or believe, whether it is in a discussion with friend or total strangers, or just teaching mathematics, physics, how to make a wood table or cook pastas, to children. I volunteered in a few association of that kind, and enjoyed it particularly.

Music, Movies, and Books
I really like reading, and I'm more into relatively classic novels. One of my favorite movies is probably "Stand by me". And as of music... Well, I'd listen to any kind of music, as long as it surprises me. Those days I'm listening to Samba, Pagode, IDM, Down tempo, Folk and Math Rock.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm always amazed by small villages celebrations. I enjoy seeing so many happy people enjoying their time together, with no need of anything else from the outer world.
In that sense, spending a week swinging by flaming dragons, flashing sharks and furry bikes in Black Rock City was a BLAST.
