Overview
About Me
My name is Ngan but you can also call me Haley if Ngan is too hard for you to pronounce. I grew up in Vietnam, went to college in Kentucky, and now I'm living in Seattle.
In the past, I've spent a semester studying abroad in Strasbourg, France.
My spirit animal is golden retriever (I am a dog person). I like to ask people I just meet a bunch of questions to really get to know them. Besides sociology, I enjoy studying art history and economics. Cooking and taking photographs are my ways of meditating.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is awesome not only because it is free, but because I can meet and interact with my host-true local people who I will get to know a little bit and hopefully through them, I can get a glimpse of the culture and the way of life of wherever I traveling to.
Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to all kinds of music, but listening to Frank Sinatra somehow always brightens up my day. My favorite movie is Before Sunrise. Unfortunately, I have not found a favorite book yet :(
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Touch a piece of rock on Mars in the Natural History museum in Washington DC.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love traveling. I have been to a lot of places across Vietnam (the beaches in the South are divine. The food is incredibly good and unbelievably cheap, I high recommend!). During breaks, I try to get out of Kentucky and see more of America. So far, I have seen Columbus (Ohio), South Beach (Florida), Washington DC, and New York. Last summer, I had an amazing week with my sister in Korea. In the past month in France, I have made a few day trips with my classmates to Germany and an unforgettable weekend in Paris (such a beautiful city!)
I am more than happy to share all my traveling experience with you and hope to learn something about you too.
