I am 36 years old, male, a secondary school teaching music, Chinese history and economics. Born and raised in Hong Kong but have spent 3 years in UK studying undergrad and master degrees. I am a choral conductor and a singer, a lousy pianist, a fan of the Liverpool FC and the Leicester City FC, a regular hiker as well as a frequent tourist. I live with my wife, who is a painting teacher, and we have a tiny poodle who behaves always cute like a baby.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy travelling alone, think about what I have learnt and observed, and spend time on writing travelogue. I used to prefer youth hostels or airbnb but I will be even more excited to be hosted in local households in order to experience native life within the shortest time possible. I am a non-smoker and a disciplined social drinker whom will try to avoid damage to voice by alcohol. I am perhaps not a good chef, given the last time I cooked for my friends and myself was over 13 years ago, but I still believe I can pick up the skills again with several trials and errors.

It is sad to tell that, my home, like all other flats in Hong Kong, is too small even for ourselves (imagine Hong Kong has been ranked top in the world in terms of price of house). But I promise I will spend my best effort, to make special arrangement to host anyone who has hosted me before.

Music, Movies, and Books

I work mainly on choral music. I am an amateur lyricist for Cantonese songs while I occasionally write lyrics for local musicals and pop demos. I am hot fans of musical, watched almost every musical I know and available when I was in UK, regardless which city the shows were being held.

Legend of 1900 is my favourite movie even if it appeared more than 15 years ago.

I rarely read a whole English book except office documents and text books. I know this is bad but I just can't spare time given the crazy long working hours in Hong Kong.
