About Me
Hello,
My name is Hòa or you can call me Annie. Like all of you, I love traveling, meeting people & making friends. It is great to learn about new culture as well as introduce my country to travelers around the world. I believe, TO SHARE IS TO BE SHARED.
I will be happy to drive you around Hanoi, together discovering the hidden charm of my city out of its hustle & bustle. Food is also my great passion (yummy, yummy), so if you share the same interest, I'd love to bring you to some great local food here.
I used to be a perfectionist traveler who plans & arranges everything in advance. I was afraid of being lost or cheated and would love to see things go smoothly. But it turned out not to be fun at all. When recalling memories, what was once deemed bad experience makes me remember the most. EXPERIENCES, no matter good or bad is TREASURE. In the end, it is not important that how much money we earn but how many experiences we get.
PHILOSOPHY:
1. Present is a present, treasure every moment.
2. Follow your HEART.
3. Accept the difference.
4. Never judge anyone by where they come from, but who they are.
5. When you are in Rome, do as the Romans do.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have visited some countries, mostly with my family or friends and I did have good time with them. Still, I felt something missing and was obsessed with a question: "What am I really looking for when traveling?". I realized that almost all my trips are more of holiday than travel because I only set my foot there and left without any feeling or understanding of those lands.
It was until Bali trip in 2015 that helped me answer my question... Not beautiful beaches, magnificent volcanoes or ancient temples make a deep impression. But what make it unforgettable for me is spiritual culture, homemade food and smiling people. I would never feel it if I had not tried home stay with locals and communicating with them everyday. Now, my motto is "FEEL THE SOUL, NOT JUST KNOW THE SOIL".
Luckily, I found Couchsurfing and OMG, it is truly what I expect - a network to connect travelers all around the world. I just started my Couchsurfing experience but I believe it would be interesting because I may have a chance to meet and stay with great local hosts as well as other open-minded travelers.
